Keppra 500mg is an antiepileptic tablet used to treat partial-onset seizures, myoclonic seizures, and primary generalised tonic-clonic seizures, either alone or with other epilepsy drugs. It works in a unique way by binding to a protein called SV2A on nerve cells to calm abnormal electrical activity. - Monotherapy for partial-onset seizures with or without secondary generalisation in adults and adolescents (≥16 years) with newly diagnosed epilepsy.
- Adjunctive therapy for partial-onset seizures in patients ≥1 month of age.
- Adjunctive treatment of myoclonic seizures in juvenile myoclonic epilepsy (≥12 years).
- Adjunctive treatment of primary generalised tonic-clonic seizures in idiopathic generalised epilepsy (≥6 years).
